Default OC Deters Confrontation With Aggressor

Saturday morning I took my beautiful girlfriend out to breakfast at the Scotrun Diner in Scotrun PA (between tannersville and mount pocono) on route 611. Went inside, had a graciously portioned meal ( I was OC'ing) and not a word from anyone. On the way in though some people had the "eyes bulging out of head" look going on. Most of the people there were from out of state, according to the license plates in the parking lot. Tannersville/scotrun/mt pocono are big tourist areas. So I come into contact with alot of out of staters over there. Anyway, that went well.

Then on the way back home we continued down 611 to the Turkey Hill acrossed from Mr. Z's so I could get some gas and chocolate milk for my girlfriend. Along the way I notice a guy riding my ass and when we come to the stop light @ the corner of 715 and 611 he almost rear ends, his SUV oscillating as hard as his suspenion would allow after jacking his brakes. The guy is giving me looks and riding my ass. I continue on my way and enter the gas station and pull up to the pump. The man drives behind me aggressively making turns and pulls in directly behind me and has an aggressive motion to his movements as he is exiting the car.

Thats when I saw his eyes drop down to my XD9 Service carried in a Serpa as I stepped out of the car and made eye contact with him. He turned around real fast and juttered into the gas station. I walked in behind him and went to grab some chocolate milk. Made my way up to the line and the girls behind the counter seemed very uneasy about the guy, he was at the register now. His hair was completely haggard, 5 oclock shadow gone 2 days too long, he was wearing dirty sweats, and his shoe laces on both shoes were completely untied and sprawled out. He was also practically laying across the register counter like a slob. I kept a distance of about 10 feet behind him and he turned, refusing to make eye contact, and cold shouldering me, walked out to his suv and drove off.

I can only assume from this guys actions, mannerisms, and appearance that he was wasted by 10 am. I'm sure he stunk of alcohol but I didnt get close enough to smell him, I wanted to keep distance incase he tried anything.

I have a feeling simply OC'ing detered this unstable man from persuing a conflict with me.

Visible sidearm = cheap insurance against crazies.
Any mission, any conditions, any foe at any range.
Twice the mayhem, triple the force.
Ten times the action, total hardcore.

Once your head clears, take a minute to write the story as we all know it happened.

I'm fairly certain that you are still dazed and confused by the beating you received when he "got the drop on you", "took your sidearm", and "pistol whipped you" with it.
(From what I know about OCing, he shot you with your own gun too, but I understand if you want to leave that part out as it is always embarrassing to be shot with your own gun)

Jcabin, what you're saying here makes little to no sense. Open carry is just for making statements. It's for people with egos who feel that they're too good to carry concealed. Not only that, but you're more likely to have your sidearm taken from you when you open carry...

At least that's what I read on the Internet.

Good story and I'm glad you and the girlfriend are safe.

Didn't he get shot the first time, when the BG saw his OC gun?
