springfield xdm sights, need to aim high

I know the sights on the Springfield xdm come sighted in from the factory at 25 yards (from owners manual). When I am shooting at a target about 15 feet away, I have to aim about 3 inches high. Or in other words, the bullet impacts the target 3 inches below the top of the sight. Is that normal?

I haven't noticed that problem, but then again I really haven't put it through its paces quite yet either. I'll certainly report back as I learn more about how it shoots.

I've been working up a load for my XDm9 using 124gn JHP. At 25' it shoots about an inch high. WWB (115gn) shoots about the same.
You are keeping your front sight level with the rear sight aren't you?

My XDm is as the book says - Point of Aim = Point of Impact. And is VERY accurate.

my xdm at 21 feet hits dead center was using reloads and at 25 yards about 1/2 inch low very nice gun shoots very well
