Default is there an increase in people seeking training?

I ordered a blue gun replica of my 1911 last week.

I plan on needing it to practice (duh) and for one of the classes I plan on taking this summer.

    then i got this email
Dear Customer, We have recently received the following order from you.
Unfortunately due to high demand of this item, it is in
back order and will ship in 4-5 weeks. Your order will
be processed normally unless otherwise advised. Thank You,Customer Service
    blue guns in high demand?

I mean I know the gun market went all crazy, and now ammo is, well, theres a couple dozen threads on that. But blue guns?
I think I have been under the assumption that people bought guns scared of a ban, and that the ammo was due to hoarding.

but really are we seeing a large increase in new firearm owners who actually plan on shooting and training?

    thoughts?

It could be used for firearms training but I've seen these being used for
self defense classes and martial arts training as well , on how to disarm
    BG with a gun .

Actually yes. It took the NRA about 2 months to get my certifications back to me (for pistol instructor). I called to check the status and they said they have so many applications for instructors that they can't keep up. So, gun and ammo purchases are up, but so is the desire to pass on the knowledge and skills.

And this is good. I am glad that the people buying guns and making and increase in gun sales are also investing in much needed training and defending themselves properly.

I totally agree which is one of the reasons that motivated me to become an instructor in the first place. The last thing we need is gun issues because this huge influx of new shooters doesn't have a clue which end the little bullets come out of.
