Re: Ruger MKIII 22/45 magazine extended base pad
Not hard first you have to make the model then the mold and next is the casting process. Takes about two days for the inital set-up after that about one cast an hour unless you have more molds. Cost $28.00 dollars for the mold rubber, $28.00 for the casting resine.

Re: Ruger MKIII 22/45 magazine extended base pad
Have modified my base pad design so pads are not loose, drop free if trying to do a speed reload, won't over seat if slamming the magazine during a speed reload. Plastic injecting the pads from polypropylene. Have a variety of colors black, blue, red, pink, dark green, marbleized colors also.

Something similar on eBay: Ruger-22-45-Magazine-extension-bumper-Adds-one-round-to-factory-magazines for $9.99 plus $2 shipping.
It is neat to roll your own though!!
I also saw some funky colored versions somewhere on line, but don't remember where.
