Hello from Southern California
Hello All,
I'm new to the board and am visiting from California. Well at least not
until the first week of May. Just wondering if any of you can recommend
any fishing or shooting spots.
I'm going to be in the Pittsburgh area for a couple of months shooting a movie
at the Peterson Events center.
Thank You

Re: Hello from Southern California
Thanks Shawn for your invite. It would be nice to finally be in an environment where everyone doesn't give you the stinkeye because your excercise 2A rights. California is nice but not for shooting or hunting.
See you guys in May. In the meantime I'm a researchin' so I'll have something to do while in beautiful PA!!

Re: Hello from Southern California
hey. There's lots of fishin going on in May. What are you fishin for? Our trout season opens in the middle of april, and there is alot of stockings going on. There's creeks, streams, lakes, rivers, and even Lake Erie isn't too far for a day trip.
I lived in sherman oaks for a few months and will agree with you that LA isn't a good shooting comunity. Although, I did meet a member from here, out there on buisness and we shot at a firing range in Burbank.
If you have any questions on shooting sports, other than what ShawnL. suggested, PMSC is the place to be. We even gave classes to actors for shooting the mini series The ......, I can't remember it. It stared John Leguisomeo. About 2 yrs ago. Ah, oh well, welcome to the forum.

Welcome to the forum.
Lots of good fishin 'round the 3 rivers (hint ), just don't eat anything outta the rivers, unless you travel a few hours away.
Also lots of streams and lakes, depending on how far you want to go, and what you want to catch. Just north of the city is a county park (north park) that has a stocked lake, not real big, but, we always catch somethin there. About an hour north is Moraine State park with a big lake (lake arthur I think) where there is good fishing. And, of course, Lake Erie, if you're up for a day long road trip.
