Re: Police Trade In's
I have a Smith and Wesson .357 mag, it is marked clearly on the barrel Highway Patrol. I found it at the Valley Forge Gun Show. The seller was Ed's Sport Shop INC. They are located 308 W. Broad Street, Tamaqua, PA 18252. I actually just found my receipt that's how I know. They were pretty good too. They had good knowledge on most firearms, and they were priced pretty fair as well. I got their asking price out the door. I hate paying taxes

Re: Police Trade In's
I probably should have included that I am not sure they do police trades, but I know he did have two of them. So you might have some luck with that.

Re: Police Trade In's
I've picked up some old Police sidearms, at PA Police Supply in Chalk Hill. I scored a couple of 4566's and P226's over the years up there at nice prices. They changed ownership a few years back and I'm not sure if they are still as good as they once were. I haven't been there lately but I'd say it's worth checking out if you head that way, they might have what you're looking for.

Re: Police Trade In's
Are you sure it isn't a S&W Model 28? N Frame, usually in 4" or 6" barrel the "Highway Patrolman" was a "budget" model of the Model 27.
Police trade ins are usually a good purchase, carried more than fired, they might show lots of holster wear but are mechanically fine.

Gander Mtn in Harisburg had some S&W 4006 trade ins a while back, about a dozen, weren't marked or anything like that.
