    Default 8mm Mauser loads

I have an old 8mm Mauser, (VZ-24), that I have been reloading for for years and years using 175 gr. and 200 gr. Sierra bullets with no problems 'cause most loading manuals cover those bullet weights. Recently like a dummy I bought a bunch of Remington bullets that weigh 185 gr. and cannot find any starting load info on them. Any suggestions?

Well the lighter the bullet the more powder needed. Heavier = less. SO...

I would take the starting load for the 200gn. round and add a grain or two and go from there.

Here's a few you may want to try,

    http://www.reloadersnest.com/detail....5&LoadID=10573
I would start with 44grs of IMR 4064. As to the COL? I suggest to where it touches the start of the Landings.

Note: My best results (Accuracy)for the Sieera 200gr BTHP MK has been 44grs of IMR 4064 with a COL of 3.200

Lambo, thanks for the great info. Over the years I have used IMR 4064 for most of my 8mm loads. Thanks again.

IMR-4064 From 43.0 grains to 49.1 grains Remington 9-1/2 Primer Work it up slow.

I like the 180 Nos. BT backed by 47.0gr of R15 lit up by that Rem. primer, shoots real good in my Yugo M48 & Mod 98 German.

Big 4064 meters like shit IMO!

RL-15 From 44.5 grains to 50.0 grains GETS HER DONE!!!
