$46 seems to be what the cost is in a lot of counties for the smaller, plastic LTCF. Some counties still issue the larger, paper one for only $25, some give you a choice.

Philly, until some time last year only charged $19. Then they sent out letters requiring holders to send in an additional $6.00!

Each county interprets the fees differently, as well as the entire LTCF application process.

Not supposed to be that way, but it is

Got mine today from Monroe county. I think it was $16 up front and $15 when you pick it up. I had to wait a while to get mine processed.

    Hi guys.

I live across the river in Hamilton, NJ. There is no close indoor range in NJ where I live.

I found ready Aim Fire in Bristol, PA which is 10-15 mins away from my house.

What permit do I need to be able to "legally" carry the gun in the trunk of my car to the range?

Don't know about the NJ side but here in PA you can have the gun in the trunk without a permit as long as it isn't loaded. Keep the ammo in a seperate storage container from the gun.

This is the same for NJ.

I thought or read somewhere that it is a felony for non PA residents to pass through Pennsylvania without a permit?

Thanks. Through the link you gave me I was able to search for this.

    I found this http://www.nraila.org/GunLaws/Federal/Read.aspx?id=59

This is a copy of the federal interstate transportation law. I probably still need to go to the Bucks county municipal office and get a permit so I can take my handgun to Ready Aim Fire and use their facility.

PENNSYLVANIA--A permit is required to carry a handgun in a vehicle. Rifles and shotguns may be carried in a vehicle so long as they are unloaded. Permits are available to nonresidents and may be obtained from any county sheriff or chief of police in the major cities. An unloaded, securely wrapped handgun may be carried without a license when changing residences, when going to or from target practice, or to or from one's home to a vacation or recreational home.
