Modifying a SKS to make it legal for hunting

Anyone else think it's kinda dumb to convert a semi-auto to single-shot?

You couln't pick up a Savage bolt gun or something? There are lots of inexpensive bolt guns that will be more accurate than an SKS, and you'll have a better platform for adding a scope.

And I suppose if I felt I owed anyone an explantion I would say something to the effect I have taken my share of white tail and find it pleasing to do so with different weapons ... be it the bow , muzzleloader , pistol , rifle , what have you.
But then I remind myself I don't really owe anybody anything
