Ruger 10/22
After you get one, make sure to replace the seer/hammer with either a Volq or a Power Custom, it will lighten the trigger from 8lbs to 2.5lbs. Also worth investing in is a plastic recoil buffer and an extended mag release.
You can get mags as big as 50 rounds (but they suck). Make sure if you end up getting a 10/22 get the magazines with metal feed lips. Both ProMag and Butler Creek make really good aftermarket mags.

Can't go wrong with a Ruger 10/22. You can find 25, 30, 50 round mags. They come stock with a 10 round mag.
troll Free. It's all in your mind.

I too will throw in for the 10/22. Just a fantastic device.
Be safe (and dependably accessorized).

Ild also go with the 10/22 i love mine. Plus you can dress them up to look tacti-cool. Ild go with the TI mags, you can tear them apart and clean them, also you can ajdust the feed lip angle

Everyone is gonna say 10/22 but I'll go with the Marlin Model 60. I prefer the tube magazine and to my mind it's the better rifle out of the box.
You can do all sorts of cool modifications to a 10/22 but the stock model is nothing great. I didn't care for my 10/22 and I ended up selling it.

The Marlin 60 is extremely reliable and has been around forever in one form or another. The Ruger 10/22 is also excellent and has a bunch of aftermarket accessories available for it. Just do your homework before buying any aftermarket stuff because some of it is worthless junk.
I dont think you can go wrong with either.

Re: Looking for a good semi Auto 22 rifle
as others have already said the ruger 10/22 is a great rifle with the capability to accept many accessories. i purchased a mint stainless 10/22 with a scope and walked out the door with it for only 150 bucks. if you don't mind spending 500 bucks and want something that looks cool go with the GSG5. they are very popular right now and continue to sell out as soon as dealers get them in. they come with a 10 rd mag but you can also buy 22 rd mags for around 30 bucks.
