Primer shortage?

Are you guys having a hard time finding primers for reloading? It seems to be it's becoming a problem. We reload for cowboy action. Don't know what's going to happen with this problem. Is somebody playing games here with ammo and reloading components? 2nd Amendment doesn't say anything about ammo..........hmmmmm

BIG time primer shortage that is only going to get worse!

The problem is that not enough companies make primers and the ones that do are making them as fast as they can BUT primer cups ar still charged by hand and right now the ammo companies are so far behind that they are locking in ALL primers being made now and in the near future so they can "try" to meet the demand for loaded ammo. It has long been a standing condition that reloaders get the primers that the ammo companies don't need and right now there isn't any left over.

yep...so buy as much as you can, when you find them.

some of the backwoods shops have some, but not much. I picked up Sm Pistol, Sm Rifle and Large Pistol today. i thought I heard them say they got some shotgun primers in this week. Others are saying the middle of the summer.

Rich, I didn't know that. I had the impression that there was a rather good automation process to make primers. I thought the bottleneck was in the preparation of the compound.

I'd be interested in seeing just how it is done. Can you point me to a book, video or something?
