Just joined the NRA
I know some people aren't happy with the NRA. But I personally feel the need to do something more to support the RKBA. Since I recently got a paid subscription to this site, I figured I've got no excuses not to be an NRA member. I'm no longer as poor of a college student as I once was. I really felt that it was time that I start speaking with my wallet and not just my mouth.
Down the road sometime, after I graduate, hopefully I'll be able to afford a lifetime membership. I'm just gonna start with my $35 1 year membership for now.
I was tired of hearing that statement: "4 million gun owners carrying the weight of the other 76 million" and knowing that I was one of those 76 million.

Re: Just joined the NRA
Actually, I noticed that when purchasing my membership and contemplated it for awhile. But if I'm going to get my lifetime membership, I'd rather it be sooner than 10 years down the road (40 quarterly payments of $25).
Oddly enough, it was your post here: http://forum.pafoa.org/national-11/5...tml#post677844 that gave me the kick in the ass to get the membership. Thanks unclejumbo!

I also joined recently, although I had another catalyst...
I also don't agree with everything the NRA does, but right now they are the biggest pull we've got.
And I'm a broke college student also, which is why I had waited so long.

Bolded by me
You do realize there isnt any " waiting " for your membership or goodies when you do the LifeTime Membership on installments right ??
My cousin went this route , got his card and member information/stuff , within a couple weeks , then started getting the magazines the next scheduled month . Plus he found out the quarterly payment was the minimum , he was told he could always pay off the balance , or a significant chunck of it anytime he wanted ( Tax Refund , Work Bonus , Over time , etc ) . Just something to consider , maybe they'll let you convert the one year to a Life one on the EPL program .Si vis pacem, para bellum
