Default Walmart Associate Takes A Stand!

Okay...in a previous thread I stated I was through looking/buying ammo. So the wife asks me to got to Walmart to get some Easter stuff. Well, I decide to walk buy the ammo...and what do I find but 12-20 boxes each of BB in 9mm, .40 and .45.

So I ask the older associate for three boxes of .45. He tells me he can only sell me two...so I tell him to give two 9mm and two .45. As he rings me up I ask if this a new Walmart policy to limit sales to two boxes. He said no...it was HIS new policy.

He goes on a rant about how sick he is of people coming in looking for ammo and bitching when they don't see any. Also sick of people coming in and buying everything they can. Said he sold some guy over $800 worth of ammo a few weeks ago and thinks all of this stuff is crazy.

Told me that if he had not implmented HIS NEW POLICY just that morning...I would not have seen any ammo...because several people wanted to buy everything they had.

Not sure how I feel about this. Glad I was able to get a couple more boxes of ammo...but part of me thought...who the hell is this guy to not sell me what I want? I wonder if I had made the store manager aware of this situation...what would they have done?

By the way...I do not believe this guy was a manager...just had a simple name tag. This took place at the Super Walmart in East Norriton.

Hmmmm? Maybe he forgot to take his fiber. A walmart employee rationing ammo.......whats next telling a smoker he can't have a whole carton because we might run out if we sell you the whole thing.

Last I checked your job was to wait on me. And whats the saying...The customer is always right.

I'd have the manager at the ammo section within minutes. If I want to buy every last fill in the blank, then I should be able to.

If Wal-Mart wants to adopt rationing as part of their corporate policy, then fine - they have the right to do that. Some whiny associate shouldn't be able to do what he wants.

If I owned a store and my clerk told me that he prevented a sale, he'd be out the door on his head.

I've had ammo issues there, too, although unrelated to quantity. This is the one on Germantown, right? My guy was obviously a few sandwiches shy of a picnic, medium height, with dark hair, and a thick brow.

I don't see a problem with rationing ammo, or any other product. You'll often see stores state "2 per customer" on items with limited stock.

The problem is the clerk setting HIS policy. I would've made an issue of it with the manager.

He lost his well paying job as a tool and die maker due to the economy. Can't find another job, so he's trying to provide for his family?

Not everyone works at Walmart because they have no other skills.

The problem is that the computer is going to show that the ammo rate of sale is less than it could be. Knowing they keep going out of stock might tell them to add more to the shelves or raise the prices to reduce demand.

It should be a management/corporate decision, really.
