ammo, gun storage question
is it irresponsible to store your ammo and guns in same safe? i know the general warning is to keep them seperate, but if the safe is the only sure way to keep kids out is it ok to keep it all in the safe?

Re: ammo, gun storage question
I keep guns and ammo in the same place, I don't see a problem. I keep a loaded gun in a small safe in my bedroom (gets taken out at night and resecured in the morning when I go to work). I also have a safe that holds ammo only (I actually have 9 safes in my house, 7 for guns/ammo and 2 for my coin/casino chip collections and valuable papers). I also don't have any kids around (regularly).
What I don't do (because I'm a reloader) is to keep primers and powder in the same container. Primers are on one side of the room, powder is on the other side.Ron USAF Ret E-8 FFL01/SOT3 NRA Benefactor Member
