    Default Pistol Training DVD's?

    Hey All,

I was thinking about getting my concealed weapons permit sometime soon. I live in Washington state which does not require a pistol training course in order to get your license, but there aren't even optional training courses near where I live. I was wondering if anyone knows of any good DVD's out there that would cover the basics of concealed carry, include some tactical training on what to do in various situations (home, restaurant, close quarters, etc.). Basically, is there a DVD out there that would cover the information that I would learn in such a class? Thanks in advance!

^^This is the best answer I have for you.

As for DVD's that can HELP prep you some for actually taking a course....

As much as I hate the SOB, he presents the fundamentals pretty well, and this DVD has helped a few of my friends improve.

    These are Clint Smith's DVD's, which I have, and aren't bad...they're a good overview.

I can't stress enough how good of a program InSights puts on. Their material is tested, detailed, and top notch. They're competitively priced too.

Their Intensive Handgun course is high on my list of classes to take. Other than the Rogers shooting school, I can't think of anyone else who comes close to what they have to offer.

First, I would study the laws regarding the carrying of firearms in your State: http://apps.leg.wa.gov/RCW/default.aspx?cite=9.41

And the use of force laws: http://apps.leg.wa.gov/RCW/default.aspx?cite=9A.16

You should be familiar with these even before training starts. I would then consult the NRA site to find an instructor in your area. You may have to travel. You may have to pay what seems like a lot for a class (or classes). It is worth it. It is your responsibility to yourself and society, but, it seems you already know that

Be safe (and learn, learn, learn).
