Where to get powder/primers locally?
I've moved into Harrisburg/Hershey area from out of state, and finally am about to get the reloading operation up and going.
I prefer to avoid the haz mat charge and buy local if prices are good.
Where are the best deals on reloading supplies in this area?
Is the upcoming Harrisburg gun show worth going to for reloading powder/primers?
Thanks for any info.

Re: Where to get powder/primers locally?
There's a Bass Pro Shop in Harrisburg, the Cabellas in Hamburg. Those two might have some supplies.
Shyda's in Lebanon carries some reloading supplies.
Shydas and Cabellas are a bit of a drive from Harrisburg though.
Give the Bass Pro Shop a try. They should have some of the basics.

Shyda's has more than a few reloading supplies - one of the best stocked places I've come across. If you have a map, they're in the 1800 block of South Lincoln Street, across from the entrance to the Lebanon VA Hospital.
Can't go wrong there!

Re: Where to get powder/primers locally?
Be glad you are close to Shydas! I travel to Shydas from Harrisburg when I need restocking. I save $4 on a pound of powder so I just keep a shopping list til I'm heading that way...and I'm heading that way Saturday.
There is a small shop known as Hit n' Miss and he has great prices too but he is really..hit n' miss on hours.

'nother vote for Shyda's Since the Son took over, even the firearms prices are more reasonable.
Although both BassPro adn Gander Mountain have much of the basic powders, primers, bullets and other supplies. Being chain stores thier selection is not as vast or low price as Shyda's
Ohh Yea, the Gun and Malitia Shows at the Farm show complex are great, and if you take your time, you can find some great bargens (or get taken) easily.

You cannot even compare the prices of Cabela's to Shyda's. Shyda's prices are the best in the area. Even with the price increases, Shyda's will beat Cabela's and other gun shops that stock reloading supplies. I'm speaking of powder and primers. Their bullets are high, but if you are in the market for powder and primers, Shyda's has the best prices.

Thanks!
I'm headed to Shydas tomorrow for primers and titgroup powder.
But they dont have Vihtavouri N310 powder.......anyone know a local source?
Haz mat charge is something I'd like to avoid if I used Midway.

Re: Where to get powder/primers locally?
As long as you're in the area you might want to call Encks Gun Barn in Newmanstown. It's about 10 miles east of Shyda's and would take about 25 minutes to drive. He has a good selection of reloading stuff, but I don't know if he has Vihtavouri powder, if he does it would be worth the drive. Don't get me wrong, Shyda's has a good selection too, I buy a lot of stuff from both of them, but you already know that Shyda's doesn't have your powder.
Check your PM for Enck's phone number.
Good luck.

Re: Where to get powder/primers locally?
I just had another thought;
You could try Richland Shooters Supplies too.
It's only about 4 - 5 miles from Enck's, great bunch of guys to deal with, and a pretty good selection.
Phone # and address also in your PM.
As long as you're making the trip from Dauphin, a few more miles isn't much.
