Springfield 1911 G.I.
I have an opportunity to purchase a stainless 1911 G.I. for $400. Approx. 600 rounds through the weapon, 1 springfield mag one "bubba" mag. Worth the $$? I found a new G.I. for $529 in parkerized. I was never a huge fan of .45acp but this seems like a pretty good deal. Need some advice from those familiar with 1911 platform & SA's in general, this pistol won't be on the table very long.

Yes! 100%! If you are interested, the pistol is in good shape(mechanically and cosmetically) I wouldn't hesitate, IMO that's a sweet price tag. A new one would run you an extra $200, possibly more (not to mention if you can find one, of course).

Re: Springfield 1911 G.I.
The GI is a decent pistol it's one of their basic models
or as a lot would say a starter. Many people purchase
these to either build to their specs or because they
can't afford a better SA at the time. Like I said being
basic it is a no frills 1911 but there are just as many people
who want no frills so they can add the frills they want &
none they don't. One good thing for you is it comes with
a lifetime warranty with the first owner or the 5th owner.
So if there is any problems with it you can mail it in usually
at your cost but most likely it will be repaired free, considering
that it has no human inflicted damage. So the bottom line it's
worth buying if that's what you want, you said you found
a new one for $529 but usually actual price would be between
$400 & $529 Usually. But at this time in our history just about
anything firearm related is in short supply & can be more
costly. So if you want one NOW & don't care to wait or spend
more funds? Get it! NOW
Any questions you might have there will be plenty people here
that can answer your needs. I have a lot of firearm knowledge
in the field of using them but none working on them. There are
many many here that are knowledgeable in their nut & bolts
per say & there are just as many who pretend to know...lol
But you'll be able to spot them pretty quick.Last edited by Ronnies111; March 28th, 2009 at 06:53 AM.

Got It!
$365 for pistol, +$35 transfer at Kinsey's= Springfield Armory 1911-A1 for me!
Definitely not a safe queen, used but not abused. I'm pretty sure I can justify the extra $$ for .45 acp v 9mm now...heheh
Anyone know if wolf will feed in these? Any general recommendations while I'm searching the rest of the forum?Check my feedback: https://forum.pafoa.org/showthread.php?t=42671
