The bigger bus stations (Philly, Pitt, Indianapolis etc.) wand occasionally during the day when it's busy. Philly went through bags both times I was there on that trip. A p3at carried mexican(only while in the station) behind my belt buckle got me through the one time I was wanded. My 1911 was inside my pack in a playstation box until I got to MO and could carry it. I had no issue. I would NOT EVER ride a bus again without carrying. I'm unsure if peaceable journey applies to a trip like that. I hoped it did.
    Not too hard I guess.

I rode a Greyhound from Phoenix AZ to Allentown 3 years ago and the only time we were checked for ANYTHING was in Albequerque New Mexico. They didn't check luggage at all the entire trip. They just had an officer wand us before we could get back on the bus. They apparantly didnt care if we had a gun as long as we left it on the bus when we got to the station. They just didn't want us taking any from inside the station to our next stop.

Primarily, I was looking for the legal basis or authority Greyhound is using to ban guns. I guess no one knows.

Plus, why is Canada's website is so much more thorough?

I'm not a lawyer, but I would imagine their legal basis would be private property rights, the buses are Greyhounds property, they don't want guns on their property, they have that right. I don't imagine they can have you arrested if they found out you were carrying, but they surely could ask you to leave their property, then arrest you if you don't leave.
