Why is China banned from importing ammo?

It's surprising to me because we're doing business with Russia - who we always seem to argue with, but not China. Granted that's a black mark on their record, that sting, but come on. Ban ammo too? I'm sure there is a lot more ammo we could be getting rather than what's available.

Well again; despite ChinaMart and all the crap we get from them - fundamentally they still hate us, and make no bones of always trying to figure ways to crack/hack our govt networks and arm our enemies and stir shiit and so forth.

Y'ad think by now they'd see the advantages of being a cooperative, neighborly capatilistic socialist country - like most of the EU including much of what was once the Evil Empire - but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, they always gotta be dicks when all is said and done at the end of the day.

But not in Oz; those guys are so deeply in bed with our friends in Australia, I'm sure that'd be the first country they bowl over in complete surprise if they ever got a streak of Tora Tora Tora in them.

Frankly, it is because of their specious hate towards the USA - even arming our internal terrorists - that I am willing to overlook the lack of cheap 7.62 and SKS rifles that we used to get from them.

You may really be onto something here. As unlikely as it is for something like this to actually happen, if we (the gun community as a whole) start pushing for the removal of one restriction after another, some of those pushes will get traction somewhere.

If we can keep the focus on loosening restrictions, it would make it much more difficult for the administration to then try to tighten them instead.

Again, it's totally unlikely, but a good idea!

This whole embargo is another example of what can happen with an EO - no need to shake Congress and the Senate - just use the pen and ban some shiit or suddenly demand that some obsure code be enforced.

The Aussies have a huge Chinese population, and there not so much in-bed in terms of political philosophy or militarily - just socio-economical.

And yes, to a degree I guess I am stretching it; China doesn't hate us as in "nuke us til we glow" - they know who butters their bread. Rather they want to weaken us politically and militarily so that we lose status and pose no "threat" to their own agendas. note that the vast majority of arms to Africa, including Iraq and Iran were not Soviet made, but rather the CHICOM copies like their T59 and T69 tanks.


Getting back to gun related:

I think it would be a good thing for us gunowners' wallets if we reopened the Chinese sources of ammo and guns. Allow us gunowners to help pay down the massive US-debt by buying some fun stuff again.

But I sure would feel so much better if they would throw us a bone and help keep North Korea in a box or stop with Iran's adventures. They need to understand that they will lose too, if these wild idiots continue to run free.

That's whats baffling - why can't they undrstand that...
