Sorry to tell you but taking campaign contributions (bribes) occurs on both sides of the isle. Much like gambling, those with money will hedge their bets and put money down on both sides of the isle. That the Democrats got more this time around has more to do with upcoming elections and seeing that Republicans were on the way out.

It's a simple bet.

But go back 6,8 10 years when the Republicans were in ascendancy and you'll find the larger portion of money was going to that party.

But both parties are guilty in not just this but most laws written. Both sides get money from the same groups. That Congress doesn't see anything wrong with taking this money is the real problem. Which side gets more in an election cycle is irrelevant.
