Default Opinions on the Astra .380 (ppk wannabe)

I compared the Astra .380 and the Bersa .380. Both seem to be nice, tight and comfortable to CC. Opinions on either of these? Fwiw, my main CC with be a full size Sig but this will be for dinner dates, drs. office visits etc.

Never heard of Astra, but Bersas are tried, tested and proven.

I have a real old one, and it never misses a beat.

Years ago. my dad carried an Astra Constable 22LR off duty sometimes. The gun never had a malfunction and was pretty accurate.

Bought a Bersa .380 and really am happy with it. Recoil is snappy, but its very comfortable in my hands.
No malfunctions of any kind after 200 or so rds.
    Never heard of the astra.

Sounds like an Astra Constable .380. They are Spanish made, the Bersa is Argentine.

Both are typically regarded as decent handguns... is there much of a price difference where you are looking?

I believe that this is the Constable and it looks brand new, no wear no scratches - nothing. I don't know how old it is or any other condition just like new. The Bersas I have seen run $260 and up while this Astra is listed at $200. The extra money isn't the tie breaker though. I initially said I wanted the Sig P232, even more so since I own a Sig P226. What a jewel of a gun. Then I got to play with the 232 and noticed the bottom mounted mag release. I can't imagine ever needing a handgun but, if I do, I don't want to worry about a two-handed mag change.

    thanks for your comments.
