Default NRA cap made in China

I joined the NRA this year and they sent me my new black with gold lettering baseball cap with US flag on the side.

Its nice, and I will probably wear it but a couple things bothered me. The flag only has 28 stars. OK, its small and they could not really fit 50 and it does have 13 stripes. Also, ironically, its made in China.

It reminded me of a set of Olympic coffee mugs my dad got a few years back for donating to the US Olympic team. You guessed it, made in China. He sent them a letter and vowed to never again donate money to the US team. He is 83 and a purple heart WWII vet. He is entitled to be a curmudgeon.

I have lived long enough to remember when 'made in Japan" was a label only found on the cheapest, most poorly made crap you could imagine. Today, the best cars and electronics come from Japan. Now, made in China means it was made well, but less expensively, than in the US. Where do you see this evolving? Will made in USA remain a label that people look for to express patriotism or will it mean it was made better? Random thoughts accepted.

On the NRA Store website you can see what products are imported and which are made in the USA.

I can't recall the last time I looked on a label or tag and saw the words "Made in the USA" on it.

That's another one of the major problems we have. Trade deficits.

just sad...and he needed a teleprompter to say that too? hmn...

there ain't shit made in America anymore and if there is, it's a lot more expensive than something similar that's made in China. people just can't afford to spend the extra money on American made products when they can be found sadly.

Get used to it. Every kid out there today wants to be a deigner or a software guy... Software cant make stuff, and not at a price that will get you garanteed healthcare and 3 weeks vacation.... And be able to afford a new car every year.

Yeah, i know what you are saying. The one i got a few years ago was made in Bangladesh. The other thing that pissed me off was that the flag was facing the wrong direction---the stars are to always face forward not the stripes.

It's a global economy and I'm OK with it!! If I find stuff made here I buy here. But when dropping 10 bucks or 35 for membership renewal, to expect a 20 dollar union made hat is a little tough to expect, IMHO!!

There are web sites to get a list of Made in USA products. Some are great!!

I drive a Chevy and a Harley! But my TV's are Sony, my stereo is a Kenwood, my speakers are Bose and I'm pretty sure my fridge and kitchen appliances aren't made here either!!
