I would value my hands and face just a tad bit more than $600.

If that piece of crap blew up once, chances are it may blow up again.

Trash it or sell it for scrap metal. Then save up the money you would spend to fix it and get yourself a gun that doesn't have a history of exploding.

Personally, I'd rather rock a HighPoint than an ex-kaboom glock.

I wouldnt carry a gun that had any fail to feed, fire, or eject issues, and I most certainly would even shoot a gun that blew up and was repaired. Hell I just sent a gun back to get fixed. They sent me a new one and I still am hesitant to carry it because of the issues I had with the prior one.
just my two cents. When it comes to guns Saftey first.

Depends on how bad the bang was...
If the slide or frame was damaged, it's toast. If just the barrel, maybe it's replaceable. That is really something a Glock armorer has to determine though. I'd suggest getting it checked out locally before sending it to Glock.

I had a kaboom in a G17 many years ago...bad reload (not mine, I don't reload). The kaboom took off the slide release and smoke poured out of the mag well. I had a local smith look the gun over and replace the slide release and the gun has worked well since.
Other then a minor sting to my hand, no damage to me...

Just remember, in the scheme of things, Glocks just aren't that expensive new.

Did you do an official transfer or did you just get it from a friend?

ttamoneypit, please DO NOT answer this question. If you did just get it from a friend, that may be illegal and you should not talk about it on this or any open forum. Why are you asking MrUgly?

KB's can be minor, all the way up to exploding the gun into a hundred pieces so obviously we need alot more info. That said just about anything can be fixed or replaced so send it to glock and see what they say. Was the ammo factory or reloads? If it was factory I hope the original owner was smart enough to go threw the normal channels to deal w/ that.

Curious to the thoughts behind this, chances are it was an ammo problems so i'm not sure why a gun thats had a KB would be more likely than any other to have another.

Malfs are part of the game when it comes to guns, alot of times its even user error(glocks are quite easy to limpwrist for example) so I think that is beyond extreme. I also don't feel your normal FTF/FTE malfs make a gun unsafe at all, hang out with some heavy shooters and you'll see what I mean.

The firearm is the frame. If that's good every else can be replaced.

    Please describe exactly what broke.

    Pics would be nice.

Everything can be replaced on a Glock! I had a G29 KB due to bad ammo. The gun was out of warranty. When I contacted Glock they said they would repair it free of charge unless the frame was damaged. If the frame was damaged, they would charge a small amount to replace it (I think like $40 iirc). They covered the return shipping and threw in a couple extra mags.
