Re: Opinions on High Point Firearms
You guys still beating this thread?
Maybe my Hi-Point needs another week in the litter box to prove they don't all jam.......
Of course, I bought it to be a tackle-box or trunk gun. It fits that role pretty well.

Re: Opinions on High Point Firearms
i have vicarious experience with HiPoints. my brother owned two of them, both were the .45ACP models.
he bought the first one at a gun show for $75. it was an older version, with "Haskell" engraved on the side. it hated anything but ball ammo, and even some of that wouldn't work.
later on, he bought an updated version of it, with the polymer grips, and interchangeable/adjustable sights. it was even bigger and uglier than the old one. but, it ran flawlessly. and accurately, too. not as accurate as, say, my 1911, but good enough for self defense. he paid about $125 for it, brand new.
i'm going to buy one eventually, because if i lose it, break it, have it confiscated by overzealous LEO, or anything, i won't cry over it.

Re: Opinions on High Point Firearms
I have the 9 and 45. I have fired over 3000 rounds in each and have NEVER had a single jam. As for accuracy, It's better than my SIG. I have a friend who had a few problems with jams and it was his mag. he got a new mag and it doesn't jam anymore. Those of you that have problems confuses me.

Re: Opinions on High Point Firearms
i have herd all the stories from those that dont have a hi point. they are jealous i didnt spent $600 for it. it is as accurate as my colt .45 was.
i have a .40 pictol and .40 carbine. it is easy to get a holster.
if it jams call hi point and they will tell you the 20 second fix,
YES 20 second fix. if anyone says they arent accurate - i dare them to
stand 40 yard from me while i shoot at them.

Re: Opinions on High Point Firearms
speaking of hi-points... anyone have one for trade for a 30gb zune? maybe you could throw in a 25 cal raven with it (because my zune comes with a sweet speaker dock and a car dock/fm transmitter) http://forum.pafoa.org/everything-el...ake-offer.html
my goal: to get every good person in the philly region responsibly armed.

Re: Opinions on High Point Firearms
not a touchy subject i own a hi-pint pistol and carbine both .40.
i did have problems of jamming with the pistol. but, i just called hi-point and told them and told me how to fix it. i fired 300 rounds thru my pistol no jams.
as far as hitting the target - i can hit shot gun shells at 30 yards.
people just hate the idea of not paying $700 for a pistol and still be happy with it, they are jealous.
