    Default OCing Illegal? I Know It's Not

    In a converstation with my co-workers, every one insisted that it's illegal to OC without a LTCF, but of course nobody had the slightest idea what a LTCF, is including this one guy who had one on him.
    What I'd like to know is what document, or title code can I rip out or at least name drop so to cite my information?

    OCing is not mentioned in any statute or code as being illegal, therefore it is legal.

    You could print out and show them this:
    2009 MPOETC update pages that relate to OC from the Pennsylvania State Police Municipal Police Officers' Education and Training Commission

    Better yet, ask them to produce the statute that states it is unlawful. As mentioned previously on this forum, statutes or laws usually make things unlawful/illegal, not the other way around.

    Be safe (and have them prove illegality).

    State constitution.

    On the Fed level, the 9th Amendment:

    Protection of rights not specifically enumerated in the Bill of Rights.
    The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people
    And of course the 10th:

    Powers of States and people.
    The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.
    So, If there is no specific law against something, it is allowed.

    Can't stretch this enough!

    Although, the OP's co-workers are partially correct, IF they were talking JUST about Philadelphia (SFN's favorite city).
