Re: Jury Duty... lehigh county
Pennsylvania does allow a period of exemption after you serve on a jury:
Frequency of Jury Service
The law allows persons who have served as a juror a one (1) year exemption. If you are selected and serve on a jury for three (3) days or more, you may be excused for a period of three (3) years from date of service.

Laws that forbid the carrying of arms ... disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. ... Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man." I wasn't called until I was 48 years old, now I've been called twice in 4 years.
Once for Middle District and once for Common Pleas.

Re: Jury Duty... lehigh county
Greeting"s from Harford county md. My wife just got a ''Summons" to appear for jury duty. it stated the court will decide if and excuse is acceptable I find it interesting they can attempt to over rule a doctor.
When they were advised of this. they got nasty. we shall see.

Re: Jury Duty... lehigh county
I probably shouldn't post this but since I'm retired anyway I wouldn't mind being called. I'm 64 years old and have never been on a jury. I think it might have something to do with my address. My address is Kempton which is in Berks County but I live in Weisenburg Twp. which is in Lehigh County. I have been called 3 times by Berks but each time when I corrected my county of residence on the form you send back in, I was excused. I can't understand why I have never been called for Lehigh. I've lived in Lehigh for 36 years.
The older I get, the better I used to be.

Re: Jury Duty... lehigh county
I've moved to Pa two years ago and got jury duty last month in Chester County. Wound up in a 7 day felony trial.
Going through security one day when noone was behind me I asked would there a problem if I was 'packing'. Deputy pointed to a room just inside the entrance to the judicial complex before the security gate and said - just pick an empty lockbox and store the gun. They may ask to see your LTCF but, other than that, no hassles. I was surprised to see that even PSP and local LEO has to disarm.IANAL
