Seeing the shiny spots on the case if only 1 round did it I'd say it may have been a deformed case. Otherwise a good chamber cleaning looks to be in order, that's one place where any debris at all can really make a bad day worse.

There is nothing wrong with doing that.

If you were running wolf or any steel cased ammo it could be a lacquer buildup. easiest to clean with acetone.
My DPMS will not run wolf because the chamber it too tight. some jewlers polish and a bore swab to polish the chamber will take care of this. you might think of doing a quick polish job.

I'm not 100% sure anything is wrong with the extractor or the ejector, since you're reporting that it was hanging on with a deathgrip to the casing. (In case you're confused, the extractor is the claw, and the ejector is the little spring loaded button that presses on the cartridge)

Seems more like there is something wrong with the chamber itself, so I would scrub the living snot out of the chamber. Gunk loves to get stuck all inside there so give it a good cleaning. Otherwise, I'm gonna wait to see the rest of the pics before I say any more.
What do you & MTech do go outside load your weapons
& then bring them back in the house for home protection?

I guess that's a good idea that way if you do have an
accident at least you shoot a neighbor instead of a family member..lol

The key here is "function check", not loading a gun that is fully functioning and operating normally. If your gun is not operating properly, don't use live ammo "check" and use a dummy round instead if you must do it at home.

I keep a few rounds with no primer/powder and just a head crimped in for this - I just mark the cases with a sharpie over the headstamp.

the Gun was operating properly when I cycled 2 rounds through, on the third round it jammed.

Ill admit I do need to get some dummies so when I get "bored" agian I dont get "dead" at the same time =D

Thanks for the backup there, heheh.

Yeah, I'd say scrub the bejeeeeezus outta that chamber. Any marks on ejected brass from the last trip?
