Default New Purchase: Mossberg 930 SPX

Another purchase I made at the VF show in Dec. that I never had the time to post: A Mossberg 930 SPX Autoloading shotgun, purchased from Rich Warner at the Warner's Surplus table:

18.5" barrel with fiber optic front sight
Picatinny top rail with LPA Rear aperture sight
Tang safety (great for leftys like me)
Choate 3 shot tube extension (for a total of 7+1)
    Accepts 2 3/4" and 3" shells

This one's a fun shooter. At some point I'm also going to buy a longer barrel to shoot trap/clays.

Wow that is really tricked out! Any failures of any kind so far? I used to have a Mossberg 5500 that worked like crap so I have been skiddish about their autos since then. But I think I might have to look into them again. Good luck with it!!!

I ran both the Winchester and Remington 2 3/4" #6-shot Value Pack shells through it without any problem, and I've heard those cause lots of problems in auto-loaders.

Haven't tried any home defense loads yet.

I'm having trouble finding a 930 SPX in this configuration. It seems like the only ones I can find have the meat tenderizer ("breaching" fixture) and lack the ghost right sight set-up that you have.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Do you still like your SPX now that a little more time has passed?

    Thanks everyone.
