who hear trains with a "Blue gun" ?
anyone prefer one of those bright colored barrels instead?

I use the "RED" gun P-11 had at the group shoot. I'll try to get a link.

what would you say are the pro's and con's of the red/blue guns compared to the fake barrels?

I found one gun that looks just like my 1911, but I would rather train with my 1911 if there arent other considerations.

I've been wanting to get one - both for personal training and to safely demonstrate retention holsters, etc. for the press when the opportunity presents.

Quite a few places will only sell to LE only, but SFN told me she got theirs from letargets.com. Their prices don't seem too bad, and they will sell to non-LE.

The only downside for me is that I would like a commander-length 1911, and they only have the full-size model.

Considerations are sharp edges primarily and dropping the firearm during disarms training.

I have nicked myself in trying to make a gun grab at a training class.

Greg, have you contacted ASP or any of the online suppliers to see if they are available but not listed?

I know they are manufactured, but haven't seen one listed for sale on a site for non-LE. I think I'm going to contact letargets tomorrow and ask them about it.

I thought you had a full size?

27, yes i hadnt thought of the whole "my nice gun ground into the gravel aspect"

I wish someone would develop one where you can press the trigger as well........

Thanks! After checking blueguns.com again (manufacturer), I did a Google search for the part number, and found it on copsplus.com (also sells to non-LE). Botachtactical was cheaper by a few cents (price was a couple dollars lower, but shipping was higher).
