    Default shooting jacket

I want to get a good shooting jacket to use for CMP.

Roland has a Creedmoor one I like, but I would like to toss this out there for discussion before I choose one.

    what are you guys using?

    know any good deals?

    other options on brand?

    ect?

I have heard a lot of good things about the Creedmoor coats. One of these days I will get one. Right now I use a plain jane canvas shooting coat I bought from Champions choice a few years ago. I do ok with it but the creedmore is much more stiffer for the off hand stage, and I could probably gain a few points with it.

If you can afford the Creedmoor get it... if you buy a cheaper coat and you don't like it you will only regret it. The ventilation and all position are worthwhile upgrades. If you get the full cordura it will take a little time to break in, but it will be comfortable after that.

I have a Champions Choice, Creedmore Hardback Cordura/ Leather Coat, and of course my old standby, USMC Shooting coat which you can get if you inlist for a few years of your life and qualify.

By far the best is the Creedmore Hardback Cordura/ Leather Coat and the most expensive. If you going to get one be careful to measure properly and don't get fat like I did. These coats are not to forgiving to weight gain.

It's most likly to big 44
If I get off my FA and lose about 25lbs it will fit again.
Most likely I'll keep it since it does have my name embroidered on it.
I should start shooting CMP again.

Creedmoors are good coats. That's what most of the high power shooters in know, as well as I use. If it has the ventilated sides and a hard back, all the better. The hardback helps a lot in offhand and the vented sides help a lot all summer long.
