Well I hope yours didnt give you trouble like mine. Mines been nothing but trouble since day 1. I know I should send it back to Ruger but I haven't and probably wont. I dont like it at all bottom-line, to thin, unreliable, just awkward for me. I ordered it from my dealer thinking he ordered the Mark III Hunter not Mark III Hunter 22/45. Never thought about it when I got it but now I dont like it. Should've kept my original Mark III and never should've sold it to fund this one.

Nice! I have a Mk III 22/45 bull barrel. Fun to shoot, esp. at 4 cents a pop.

4 cents is twice as much as what I just figured. 500 rounds of .22 is 12 bucks at my Walmart. 15/500=.024 or 2.4 cents.

Default Re: My newest (stovepiping jams)

Been reading about a lot of jams (stovepiping) in the Rugers but after doing some investigating found that the Volquartsen Exact Edge Extractor for the mags take care of this problem. I also read about a guy who did a slight mod to the mags by rounding the edge on the front rear of the holder (front edge of rear V notch) and did not have any issues after that. I'm going to give mine a good cleaning and I might try the mod. If that doesn't work I'm going to order the extractors from Volquartsen because I was a little dismayed at all the jams I experienced. I know I only shot the first 200 rounds through it but still felt like it should of performed better. Don't get me wrong I love the way it shoots and will not give up on it. I'll post a follow up and let everyone know what the results are after the next time out. If you want futher info on what I found I'd be glad to share the links.

I had a customer order a Hunter because of the fiber sight. He had me replace both front and rear with Weaver’s fiber, $50, (to get fibers front and rear) and loves it.

Thumbs up Ruger Mk III 22/45 jammimg problem fixes

After a lot of searching I found a fix for the mags which according to everyone who did this it almost 100% solved the jamming (stovepiping) problems on their Ruger Mk III's. Here is the link if you are interested:

I did mine today, didn't get a chance to test it but will report back after I do. I also heard that replacing the extractors with the Volquartsen exact edge extractor is also a BIG help so I ordered them too. I had a lot of jams the first time out blaming the ammo and the fact that the gun is new. I'll see how it performs after the new extractors are installed. Here's the link for them:
