    Default Upcoming DUI Checkpoints

So in the paper here they are saying local police are setting up DUI Check points on st patty's day and night are these legal? I know the PSP Safety checks are.

I rolled up to one on 4th of July, complete waste of time! Sat there forever, got to the officer "where you coming from? where are you going? Whos in the car?"

The other time, I was at one, the officer just stopped said hi, asked for ID... gave me a flier along with my passenger, and sent me on my way. Why do some just go on and on and on with questions?

I had someone ask me if they are required to answer anything for these other then give them their DL, Registration and Insurance card?

I hate them and find them completely unconstitutional IMHO!!

BUT MADD got their way and local towns get their money from the State or Fed!

I have only been through one. Officer said, "Good evening, sir, where you heading?" I answered with a question. "I'm sorry Officer, I'm not going to tell you anything, can I go through now?"

I sure felt more confident because I don't drink, too!!! But I saw them performing sobriety tests on others. They try to smell for booze and get close to the window!

I thought some departments had those little sticks or something where it sense alcohol, is that true?

    Like this?

They obviously exist, so it would be no surprise to find them being used at these types of stops.

I got pulled over once, Where are you going.. Work,
where are you comming from... Work..

So now I make it simple, I am coming from there, poit to the back, and I am going there, point forward, they have absolutely no reason to know where I am going or coming from.

I rarely drink and when I do it is never enough to affect me, you would get more more often then not being tired more then drunk.

As for check points, I get them every holiday, Working till 22:30 has its downfalls.
