    Thanks

That's probably the best resource on the net for information on NFA items.

Does that have a pastic upper and lower receiver? I've seen a similar one at DEFCON-1 and that one had a plastic upper and lower. (I hate to use the word plastic when describing gun parts, I just can't think of the right word right now)

I think those with the "plastic" uppers and lowers prefer the term Carbon Fiber, and in answer to your question, no it is not. The lower is a multi caliber Mega Gator lower and the upper is a Model 1 sales upper.

I love the Mega Gator Lowers. They have the "Meat Tenderizer" on the front of the mag well and they are the deepest black you'll ever see. They make everything else look gray. Good choice!!

What's up with that stick in the back, and do you like it?

That stick on the back is the buffer spring tube.

It's part of the design from the AR family of rifles and is nessecary, the bufferspring housing contains the bufferspring that lessens the recoil of the bolt, the bolt carrier group is propelled backwards during the gas operated cycling, the bolt actaully goes partially into the tube during ejection/feeding. Normally you can't see the tube because it's inside the stock.
