Re: Looking for A Shotgun
870s and Mossberg 500s are good, all around pump shotguns. Can't ever go wrong with one of them. Overall, they are easy to use, have proven to be good guns, and there are lots of parts availble for them, both aftermarket and replacement.
Personally, I never liked the pink ones, but if you do, go for it. As for price, I can't comment as I haven't checked lately. But seems like it is a decent price. But what do I know?

Re: Looking for A Shotgun
I just bought a Remington 870 with synthetic stock and extended mag. I decided on the 870, rather than the Mossberg, because its receiver is machined from a solid steel block. It also seemed to get better reviews overall in my searches.

I also just bought an 870 Express with synthetic stock and extended mag. My wife will be shooting it also, so I picked up some Winchester Low Recoil/Sound shells. I paid $329.95 @ GM.......no one had it or was selling it for $375 and up.

Re: Looking for A Shotgun
I like the Mossberg 590, but the 870 looked great too. Either one is a great buy.

Like others have said if you like it get it. You need to think about barrel length though. Home Defense shotguns have a shorter barrel typically an 18" one, Your wanting to go shoot with it, what do you want to shoot? How often? Those are the questions you need to ask yourself. You may need a 20-22" barrel for your purposes or maybe an 18" will suit your needs, I just dont know.
Reputation is what I strive for.
