    Default 303 AMMO QUESTION

i have what i was sure was some 303 suplus ammo. i've had it for about 10yrs. i pulled it out today and when i checked the headstamp it says RG 54 7 on it. i also have some surplus 7.62x54r ammo and i'm not sure if they got mixed up or what. i'm pretty darn sure that the 54 on my ammo is the date of manufacture. can anyone confirm if this is 303 or not. thanks for your help

It looks like your ammo was manufactured in I'm guessing these numbers are the date. (July of 1954) at the Royal Ordnance Factory Radway Green, Radway Green, UK.

Here's a list of headstamp codes. Hope it helped!

They are not even close except that they both have a rim. X54R is an extreme bottle neck and wide case compared to .303 which is slight taper bottle neck and narrow case. What you have does sound like Radway Green which someone else pointed out.
