Default Target practice on private property

    Hello,
I am a new member here and as such I have a question..
My grandmother owns property in Providence PA (just outside Quarryville) and I intend to do some target practice there. The land is 40 Acres of agricultural/industrial zoned property. Are there any laws that would prohibit me from doing some target practice there? I have done this in the past with no problems, but I would like to make sure it is legal. I plan on shooting long guns and possibly a handgun.
    Regards,
    -Joe

Unless there is a town/city/etc ordinance making it illegal to discharge a firearm in that area you should be ok. Just make sure you follow some common sense safety like a good backstop, not too close to a public roadway etc.
When you are called a racist, it just means you won an argument with an Obama supporter.

+1 and also look for any noise ordinances

40 acres sounds like a lot (damn! do I wish I owned 40 acres!!), but a round can travel well over a mile with enough velocity to do damage.
Don't guess, KNOW what's in the bullet's path beyond those 40 acres before you shoot.

    Thanks guys,
I will try and track down the county ordinance info. I believe the property is part of Lancaster county (just north of Quarryville in Providence township). I know the locals hunt there without our permission. I have posted the property many times and my signs keep disappearing. Not much you can do when you live 2 hrs away. Anyway, thanks for the advice. There is a big hill there that I use as the backstop.
