Looking for a range around State College??

Going to State College on a mechanical seminar.. Looking for a public range to shoot at.. Any suggestions?? Thanks, Dave

Check out the Scotia Range, just outside of State College. That's where I used to shoot when I was in school there.

awesome range... if you have a 4x4 truck... i killed m van going there a couple weeks ago..

I went this weekend and the road was much improved. At least the pothole to road ratio was no longer so high.

Anyone been in the back way lately. When I was up there, half the time the gate was closed. But it was a much shorter and nicer road into the range.

On the weekends the gate is closed so if you come in the backway and the main range is closed you have to schlep all your stuff up the road to the smaller ranges. I'd go to Scotia more often if I had someone else's vehicle to drive me there! No complaints, it's a free and nice range. I just wish they were open on the weekends during the winter months.
