Building my AR
Well I probably waited until the wrong time, but I am building my first AR. I recently bought a Stag stripped lower from gun broker, and placed my order with RRA for their complete rifle kit. I am waiting on the paper work to clear to get my lower ( I live in MD...Boo), but that is in. The complete kit is from last I heard a 20-30 week wait. So until I get everything else I just have a stripped lower. I will post pics when I actually have it in my hands, which is about ten days.

Re: Building my AR
If I might offer a suggestion....F*** RRA.
Their wait is absurd. If you check some of the online sites daily, you can find just about everything you need a LOT faster than 6 months.
I dunno about other shops, but we have like 5 or 6 AR's in stock.....

Re: Building my AR
Yea, you can build AR's all day long on ar15.com and have one by the weekend. You'll pay a premium, but you'll have it.

Hurley,
Here's where I got mine last year.

I have no idea if they have any in stock, or can get you a RRA kit any faster, but it can't hurt to ask.

Re: Building my AR
Thanks everyone. I placed the order, but I had hopes of finding the parts cheaper, this was just in case anything happen. Emptymag thanks for that website.

Re: Building my AR
I had to dig this thread from the grave, but I will be finishing my ar build this week. I changed from the RRA complete kit to a del-ton kit. I failed to realize the credit I used to order the kit expired and I finally changed the card number last week with del-ton. This kit shipped today so it will be in at the end of the week.
The build will include:
Stag lower chambered for 5.56
Del-Ton 16" rifle kit flat top upper chambered for 5.56
Magpul flip-up buis
I am at school right now, but I moved back to PA because I got married in October so pictures of the lower and the rest of the kit will have to wait until at least friday.

Re: Building my AR
What was the total time from placing the order with Del-Ton to the time it shipped?

Re: Building my AR
Well because of my screw up with the credit card it took 11 months. But I should have had it in august, but then I had to pay for some other things so it was put on the back burner. I fixed the credit card last Tuesday and I got the shipping confirmation email this morning.
