    Default Are Laptops bullet proof?

So as an office worker that is not permitted to carry on site, if a gunman comes in I was wondering if I could put my backpack (with comp in it)) in front of me and see if I'd survive...

I was amazed by the results. Take a look!

    Pretty impressive huh?

    oh wait...

    guess I'd be toast...

    ehhh well FIRE AWAY

We stacked 3 laptops up to see if it would stop a bullet....

    they lost

The first vehicles normally on the scene of a crime are ambulances and police cruisers. If you are armed you have a chance to decide who gets transported in which vehicle, if you are not armed then that decision is made for you.

Be prepared, because someone else already is and no one knows their intent except them.

You can tie one over your chest (a la Clint Eastwood) for the next time you are in a duel.

I think it'd definitely slow the bullet down if it hit the hard drive, but I wouldn't expect too much honestly. A large hardcover book might be a better option actually.

I'm sure it slowed it down but it still passed through... and blew up the hard drive in the process

Now I regret not taking some pictures of the computer case my boss riddled with AK fire last weekend.

Fortunately, my workplace is well armed - last weekend was our "Team building" day. I've got backup if the zombies show up in the middle of a workday.

Your best bet would be to throw the laptop at the gunman and follow behind it while he's distracted, and try to take the gun from him. Keep a long pair of scissors in your pencil holder next to it, so that way you can stab the guy in the throat with them.

They are donating it to something called the "Spero Group". According to their page

We have a desire to harness the power of the consumer in other parts of the world to positively affect African communities.

We will do this by making permanent changes such as harnessing safe water sources, installing sewage systems, building dwellings, and funding education; and short-term solutions when necessary such as food/nutrition and clothing.
You might be protecting your own ass by buying one of these backpacks, but can you walk around each day knowing that your money went to provide clean water to Africans?
