Hellertown Shooting club training
Has anyone taken one of the training classes at the Hellertown sportmens club? How were they? Is there better local training you would suggest?

depends upon the level course you desire. www.gunskills.com also teaches in your area.

Re: Hellertown Shooting club training
Thanks for the links, I defiantly want to take a local class or two. I was looking at http://www.hellertownsportsmen.com/firearm_training.htm but I like to get some recommendations first.

Re: Hellertown Shooting club training
Last year I attended the LFI level one course in Harrisburg. It runs for four consecutive days and I felt I got more than my money's worth of training. It's intense, has both classroom and shooting time. We went through more than 1K rounds. You will learn how to use the gun, when to use the gun, when not to use the gun and what to expect if you do use your gun. While I have not taken any local training, so I can't comment on these earlier posts, I will say that training from Massad Ayoob is top notch.

I took the NRA basic handguns class there around 10 years ago along with my wife. It was a great class. Because of that memory, I have just joined the club earlier this month.
I have really gotten back into firearms lately and I think they are top notch.

Re: Hellertown Shooting club training
I've taken training from Bob at the Hellertown range and he is VERY GOOD. I have not taken this particular class ... yet, but I look forward to it.
The classes I have taken from him are:
Advanced Pistol Operator
Vehicle Tactics
Both GREAT classes - but I would love to train the Vehicle Tactics on a regular basis, the real world applications of this class are unending. The number of real world scenarios are unlimited. We are more likely to be jacked or hacked away from our home, we must always be on the lookout ... but not paraniod freaks.

Re: Hellertown Shooting club training
I took the intro to handgun course mid-Februrary @ Hellertown Sportsmens Assoc., it was taught by Paul & Susan Piscator... very friendly couple, class size was limited to 6-7 people, nice facility too. Total cost was $90 from 9am-3:30pm
I wouldn't have considered purchasing a handgun prior to taking a class... highly recommended!
