    Default refinishing an older SIG

    so, I have found several SIGs (see other posts if interested)...

    Now, the question is whether I want to buy an older one and refinish it, or fight the urge and just wait until I have money for a new or CPO one.

    Question = what do you recommend for an inexpensive refinish option...

    Any ways you can do it yourself?
    If not, where can I send it to?

    Thanks

    Sig will do a factory finish on it, I am on my cell so I can't link you now but the pricelist is on their website. Duracoat is another option I like. I'd assume both would be about $150.

    They do sell at home duracoat kits but I don't know much about how well they mag or may not work.

    This is where my SIG was refinished.

    Another good place;

    I wouldn't recommend skimping on refinishing as it will be most likely be there for the rest of the guns life.

    +1 on what Big Dog said. Todd, at Customized Creationz, Ceracoated the slide on my P6 and did a great job. He also did some internal work on the gun. Price and turn around time was great.

    what kind of turn around are we talking?? weeks, months??? I haven't even received the gun yet (only pictures) and I want to send it off, but only if I can get it back soon.

    CCR or Customised Creationz will do the job.

    Todd told me 2 weeks when I sent the gun in to have the trigger work done. It was back to my FFL in 5-6 days. It depends on how busy he is.

    Here is a you tube video I found a few weeks ago about the process of Dura Coat. It is not on a sig, but It will give you an idea of the process, cost, and what is involved. Also, if you go to his (nutnfancy's) firearms review chanel He has a series on the p226 where he praises it's benefits.
