I also found a break action shotgun that had this stamped on it.
HARVARD THE GEO. WORTHINGTON CO. CLEVELAND, OHIO
the # on the other side was # 265103 with a 12 next to a G in a diamond? I guess it means 12 guage?

Caan anyone Date these guns, tell me what they're worth if anything?

The George Worthington Co. was a major hardware wholesaler and retailer which got its start in 1829 supplying picks & shovels and the like to the workers on the Ohio and Erie Canal. Until its demise, Geo Worthington was Cleveland's oldest company operating under its original name.

Your shotgun is a "trade" shotgun, privately labeled for Worthington. There were hundreds of brand names of these inexpensive arms, that were actually made by two or three firms.

Value depends on what kind of shotgun it is (hammer, hammerless), the barrels (twist, damascus, fluid steel), its level of ornamentation and, of course, its condition. Typically the values for these shotguns are as wall decorations, anywhere from 75 to 150 dollars depending on how nice they look. Generally no attempt should be made to fire them. For one, they were nearly all (except for those dating circa WWI and later) made for black powder.

    Hope this helps.

    Regards,

    Walt
