Default MY NEW STEYR M9A1 GETS AN A+

I bought a steyr M9 A1 last week because I loved the ergonomics and the triangle sights plus it was so different looking.
I took it to the range yesterday with 300 rounds of federal ammo to see how it would shoot, well it was flawless no jams of any kind . Ejected perfectly . I used both 15 round mags no problem with either.
I did a few rapid fire rounds even used my week hand only and still ate all 300 rounds without a problem.
accuracy was very good ,hit center mass on a 11x17" target at 25 yards with ease ( I was mostly just checking reliability on this range trip)
Recoil was minimal due to the low slide and solid feel of the gun. I have another 700 rounds to put through it to make sure it can be used as my ccw.But so far I love this pistol.

Lower bore axis than a Glock.....supported chambers.....trapezoid sights.

    These guns are WAY underrated.

I agree....I shot the .40 version a while back and the gun was a natural pointer and for the price you can pick these up for usually under 400 bones, they are a steal. I shot 300 rds through that gun that day and not one hiccup.

Generally a gun usually needs only 300ish rounds to be considered safe for carry by alot of manufactures. I would run the 300 and a box of yuor carry ammo and I would consider it safe for carry.

how's the trigger on Steyr pistols? I always wanted to fire 1...they're definitely not the 'nicest' looking pistols I've seen, but I've never heard anything bad about them.

The trigger has about the same pull as my glocks, but the over all feel of the pistol is much better . there is a steel frame molded in the lower half that makes it a very sturdy gun. IF you have not held/shot one you got to give it a try.
