    Default Broken extractor

I have a semi-auto Mossberg 22 plinkster. Today while at the range the extractor broke. The extractor itself is in one piece. The entire metal piece is what came out of the gun. It looks like there was maybe a pin that held it in place? I'm guessing that is what broke. Is this something I can fix myself by getting a replacement pin? or is this something that should be taken to a gun smith? If so what can I expect to pay for the repair? The gun isnt a very expensive gun just something fun for plinking.

    Thanks

If you feel comfortable working on your own guns and have the parts and a diagram showing you how to effect the repair and the tools to do it, then why not try. Taking to a gunsmith will probably cost you betwenn $25-$50 depending on what the smith's hourly rate is and if you have him buy the parts. Always could be more or could be less.

Thanks. I might take it to my local shop and see what the cost will be to have it done properly.
