Built in Gun Cabinet Pictures - Post Yours
i got permission to build a gun cabinet into the wall behind our fireplace in our bedroom. this area did have shelves in it holding junk. it cost my about $15 to do. and it looks like a $15 job most materials i had laying around and i used Lexan For the front material. my mom works at a glass store so i can get the lexan really cheap ;-) (•Durability, 250 times stronger than glass. 30 times stronger than acrylic) so the weakest part of my cabinet is really the lock. there are 20 screws holding the lexan to the frame. i have 2 kids in the house and didn't want my long guns sitting around the room in the corner with locks on them (even though there locked they can still be touched and kids destroy things) this worked out good for me and it actually looks decent (in person). mine isn't fully done the whole things going to get a repaint so it all matches. but this is where i am so far
so i want to see all of your home made/ do-it-yourself gun cabinet projects no mater how sh!tty they turned out

I'm thinking about turning a shallow closet into a gun closet. I need more ideas on locking it, though...
Good idea and it looks great!

Re: Built in Gun Cabinet Pictures - Post Yours
yeah im going to do something about the lock but i havent found anything yet. it keeps them away from the kids for now and the girlfriend. i used to keep the handguns in the little 1.5'x1.5' safe in the closet loaded but she went in to get papers out 1 day and left it hanging open so i had to come up with something else and this was it. im looking for one of those locks that has 2 rods coming off of the lock one that goes up and one that goes down to secure the top and bottom and locks into the frame but i have yet to find one. it works for what i need it for and i also think it looks good behind the fireplace.
thanks for the compliments
