I see most LEO carrying glocks. I would guess its because they are cheap, durable, and easy.

No, its because of the Glock LEO programw, that includes everything, from training to gunsmitting.

That's only true if you're on the equator and shoot them directly east.

My Dad was a cop and carried one until the mid 90's. They then switched to Sig. I think most switched to guns with higher capacity.

I started off carrying a revolver and later switched to a 1911.
I carried the 1911 on patrol for about 15 years.

I would guess reliability issues and capacity limitations.

A few weeks ago I was at a doctors office. As I was leaving some sheriff's officers were bringing in a prisoner. as I walked by I noticed the female officer carried a S&w 686.

But overall I think price has a big factor on what is carried.
