Default King of prussia, cheap FFL, and store Etiquette Q?

I know someone here posted a 25$ FFL in KOP but I cant find that post anymore for the users name. He never posted details either so here I am asking. Anyone recommend a good one under 35$? Just need it for a FTF pistol transfer, I don't need them to receive it.

Also when buying a used pistol, when is the appropriate time to ask the seller to field strip it for you to check out? Do you just take up counter space on a slow day (seems rude to me), do you find a range to meet at, do you shadily put a towel on the trunk and break it down in the parking lot of the FFL store....

What is the best way to test the function of a semi auto pistol? Buy some snap caps and manually cycle after dry firing is what I was thinking.

    Thanks.

I'm doing a private transfer today and for the $32+ the shop wants, the least they can do is allow me conter space to field strip the gun before I buy it.

King's doesn't quite do whatever you want. I just called them to ask about pricing for an out of state FFL transfer for a new handgun. I was told that they don't do those for guns that they have in stock. I guess that this makes sense from their perspective (they'd rather make the sale).

Sometimes it is easier to go in a talk to them... than have someone ask over a phone.

I find that a face to face with the owners of a place... get more done usually.

Pat and Roger are good peeps. Always have been to me anyway.

Good point, FTF is always better. It's too long a drive for me to go in hopes of special treatment. There are other fish in the FFL sea.

Anyhow, I'm just glad to be picking up my new Springfield TRP this week, no matter who does the transfer . . .

They are nice, however they will push you to buy from them if you are buying new. If it's used, they will do the transfer.

He won't receive from non-FFL's from out of state, however.
