UTAH Permit - How long does it take...

I went through a Utah LTCF course and sent in the paperwork the last week of January, but my check still hasn't cleared my bank. I believe they have 60 days to get the permit mailed out after the check clears... is that right? Anyone know the timeline? I sent my info priority mail so it should have been received within 2-3 days of being mailed. I know it takes a while... I just hate waiting.

When I was a NV Resident I applied for a UTAH NR Permit. As I recall, it took 2-3 months to get my card back. I don't remember when in th process they cashed my check.

Now, I recently moved back to PA and sent them a change of address. It took about two weeks and they sent me the license before the check cleared my bank.

I was surprised by how helpful the folks in Utah and Nevada that processed these licenses were.

The UT Permit is pretty popular, they may have a backlog

My wait is approaching almost 60 days. They charged my CC on December 18 and here it is Februay 16th and no permit! 60 days is the law, if I don't get it by then I will be calling.

I mailed my packet in the middle of Nov.
I used a M.O.
Got mine in Jan.

ETA: my issue date is 1/8/2009.

Sounds like I've still got 6 weeks or so to wait at the minimum. Darn. Patience has never been one of my virtues.

Just as a follow-up to this old thread I still haven't received my Utah permit and it's been over 60 days now. My check was cashed Feb. 25th so I figured I should see my permit around the end of April. I just called today to check on the progress and the nice lady at BCI told me they're really running behind - in fact they're currently processing applications from February 19th -- which means that a 10 week wait is about the norm right now. My permit will most likely be mailed out next week according to the BCI rep.

Just wanted to pass the info along as there are probably others in the same boat I am.

I just called the BCI in Utah and they told me they were about 4 months out on applications. I sent in my information back at the end of March and they said the earliest it will be in will be at the end of June. They told me that they hope their lead time will go down here soon, but they are currently swamped.

If you used a check, you should be able to call them up and find out your status. I used a money order because I did not want to forget about the check and have it bounce.
