    Default Dream house

Mine: Large, brick, three-story corner rowhome (or else one of those stone deals like you see on Shunk St. in deep South Philly with a little yard), attached garage, roof deck with Jacuzzi (do they make combo hot-tubs, small above-ground swimming pools? cause that would be ideal) and grill. Small backyard with BBQ pit and weight bench. Large basement with indoor range and w/d-- Come down, drop off a load of laundry, pop off a few rounds. Interior of house would be decorated in Streamline Moderne style. Obviously all of the appliances would be state-of-the-art and there would be an extra freezer stocked full of venison and boar. Track lighting with various color schemes to choose from (normal, blue, red, black light, etc.) and a bad-ass multi-room sound system.

I am, of course, leaving out my dream gun collection in my dream gun safe, as well as the numerous models who would be in my King size bed and Jacuzzi.

If I ever get this sort of place, there will be a very large, sexy party with Martinis and Playboy bunnies and Jimmy Caan, and, of course, you are all invited.

    What's your dream house?

My family's former castle, restored and modernized of course, and relocated to NW Jefferson County.

About 500 acres, large stream or river running through the property with a few large lakes, lots of heavily wooded areas and a few large fields, somewhere that has all 4 seasons but nothing really extreme, maybe Tennessee, Kentucky... etc

oh as for the house... 1500 - 2000 sq foot log cabin with a full basement. house needs to be approx 65 x 25-30 feet over looking one of the lakes and within 200 feet of the river / stream, preferably in one of the large fields. powered fully by wind and solar, 100% off the grid.

Spend my days fishing, managing the deer / turkey herds and gardening... just enjoying life

btw - the reason for the 65' long house is I need the room for a 20 yard range in the basement, 8 1/2 or 9 foot celings of course.
The first vehicles normally on the scene of a crime are ambulances and police cruisers. If you are armed you have a chance to decide who gets transported in which vehicle, if you are not armed then that decision is made for you.

Be prepared, because someone else already is and no one knows their intent except them.

Its not so much the house, we can always build and add to it ... more the location

About 500 acres (Montana maybe) with a great view, stream and hunting and lots of property to grow our own food

A main house, separate garages (2 car at least) ... then I would want to add a small barn for chickens and maybe pigs and a cow

and the finishing touch, the one thing that would make me the happiest man in the world would be a full woodworking shop, saws, planers, lathes, shapers you name it ... I'd spend the rest of my life one happy HAPPY man

    This...

Right now I'm about 497 acres shy, plus the livestock.

All but the planer... but I haven't done much in the past few years, once all the daughters and nieces and neighborhood girls got their doll cradles, and the boys all got their wooden cars and such...

/and the mother-in-law got all her tabletops and shrank repairs.

I'd like to get back into metal machining, so my true dream home would have a Bridgeport and metal lathe out in the "shop" as well.

While I have done both I prefer wood working with one exception, I would love to have a forge so I could create my own parts for things ... something about pouring that molten brilliant metal into something functional.
