favorite handgun caliber and why
Sinse I started this thread I will give mine;
.22 Remington Jet (RemJet).
Used in the S&W model 53. Based on the .357 mag. necked down to .22 caliber. Favorite because it is a fun carry gun for groundhogs ( hate to think what it would do on 2 legged vermin). Second reason is that very few people have ever heard of one let alone seen or shot one. Third reason it is spectaculer to fire. Huge flame and report with no recoil. Awesome when fired at an indoor range. My carry 53 has a 4' barrel, my collectors are 6" and 8 3/8".

Re: favorite handgun caliber and why
9mm
I carry a 9mm because of economy. Ammo is cheap enough that I can afford to shoot alot more than I can with a .40, .45 or a 10mm, and when attending a training class I can concentrate better on the techniques being taught and my gunhandling instead of trying to master a heavier recoiling pistol. 9mm also offers faster shot to shot recovery (i.e. split) times. 9mm hits the sweet spot in the cost/round curve: bigger rounds are more expensive AND smaller rounds (.380 and .32) are also more expensive.Last edited by JustinM; April 13th, 2007 at 11:17 AM.

.22 and 9mm for the same reasons others have stated. I can shoot all day without breaking the budget for ammo.

Re: favorite handgun caliber and why
I have most handgun calibers, but my favorite hands down is the 10mm. With the current avialable load selections you can go from light self defense loads up to serious hunting loads. In my opinion the most capable handgun round avialable.

Lycan,
I get about 6 loadings out of the brass. If I anneal the necks i get a couple more. Not worth the trouble to anneal.

.45ACP for the bang but .22lr for the affordability. My Ruger MKIII is accurate as hell.
